What Are Tarot Card Readings?

Tarot card readings combine messages from spirit and the tarot deck. Tarot readings are often structured and direct. They are great for clients who desire a deep dive into their goal or to gain more information about their life path, love, or career. In addition, it should be noted that all readings are based on present energy.

Tarot Readings May Be For You If…

  • You’re open to intuitive guidance that may be different than what you expect to hear.
  • You desire a straightforward approach to achieving your goals.
  • You need a step-by-step approach to achieving your goals in a way that aligns with your energy.

Tarot Readings May Not Be For You If…

  • You aren’t a fan of direct communication.
  • You don’t like blunt readings. I will be honest, in some of my readings, the cards don’t beat around the bush. Think of it as a spirit guide saying, “Hey listen up, trust where I’m leading you right now.”
  • You prefer a gentler, softer approach to navigating obstacles.
  • You aren’t willing to let go of what’s no longer serving you.

What Are Oracle Card Readings?

Oracle cards are less structured than tarot. Where tarot decks usually include 78 cards, an oracle deck may include 30 – 100 cards or more. The cards are based on the artist or deck creator’s vision, experience, or life purpose. Whereas tarot cards are typically based on the Rider-Waite system.

Oracle readings tend to be more poetic and intuitive in nature, leaving room for reflection. They tend to be suited to those who seek gentle clarity in their life, love, or career direction. Or, want a softer approach to manifesting their desires.

Oracle Readings May Be a Match If…

  • You grow better in slow, soft movement. Oracle cards tend to be gentler and easier to connect to.
  • You want to elevate your journaling/self-care routine by using oracle cards as reflective writing prompts.
  • You’re hunting for general info from a reading.
  • You’re looking for guidance on self-care or healing.
  • You want a poetic-style, intuitive reading.
  • Want a pet or person mediumship reading.

Oracle Cards May Not Be a Good Fit If…

  • You want specific info in a reading, such as steps to get to your goals.
  • You prefer simple answers.
  • You want to get to the root of an issue or obstacle.
  • You want direct, to-the-core answers.
  • You prefer cards with a “blunt-bestie” approach. Oracle cards will hold your hand. Whereas tarot will lovingly, yet directly, give you the information you need. In some cases, whether or not you are prepared to hear it.

Oracle Vs Tarot Readings For Beginners: Conclusion

In conclusion, oracle readings might be the better choice if you want soft guidance. On the other hand, tarot readings may deliver more blunt and structured advice.

However, your reader may connect better with oracle cards than tarot decks. Or vice versa.
